Earthquake

Published by Elsie under General

There was an earthquake two days ago.

News from BBC

It was my first earthquake experience. I was working at my desk, and all of a sudden, I felt like I was going to faint. Blacked out for a few seconds. Good dizzy feeling that was. Not.

I thought it was because I had been staring at my computer for too long. But before I did anything else, my lady boss started yelling “DID YOU FEEL IT?!? DID YOU FEEL IT?!?”. My male boss started pointing at the curtain, I still had no idea wtf they were on about.

Until one of the girls here went outside, and came back confirming everyone felt the same.

Because the building was shaking from the quake.

Oh shit.

We still remained up here on 18th floor for a while. And the building management told people to evacuate.

Ok, evacuated.

Outside the buildings, there were many many office workers gathering on the street, not sure what to do next. Some brave souls started making their way back up to continue working. But since it’s already past 4PM, we decided to call it the day.

I had to go get my train tickets anyway.

I’m going upcountry for a few days.

Sunday afternoon

Published by Elsie under General

Since I went out for lunch with my friends on Saturday, I didn’t go home (as in home-home) again.

So, I went to Jatujak Park on Sunday afternoon for a little walk. The park is next to Jatujak weekend market, so it’s not hard to find.

I didn’t get to walk for long, because after an hour, it started raining.

Safari Park, Kanchanaburi

Published by Elsie under Travel Stories

I’ve stumbled upon a topic about Safari Park, Bo Phloi, Kanchanaburi on pantip.com

Not so many people know about the place. It’s been reported that they don’t have a lot of income. Less than 50 visitors a day. A former accountant cheated many millions out of the place, so the park has been having problems with feeding the animals, etc.

Visitors can drive around the park themselves, or can get on the buses provided.

Entry fees; adults 120 THB per person, children 70 THB per person.

Food for the animals are available for 20 THB a bowl.

Open daily from 9AM till 6PM (tickets sold until 5.30PM).

Tel. +66 (0) 34 628270 to 1

I thought they could do with some publicity and more visitors.
